For the third year in a row, the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem helped sponsor the annual Isaiah 19 Conference in Cyprus in November, which drew dozens of Arab, Jewish, and Gentile believers from Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, and even one from Iran. Having hosted these International Middle East Network conferences in Cyprus for almost 25 years, it was a great joy for me to once again gather with so many believers from the Isaiah 19 path. This year we had about 60 people from all over the region. The meetings started powerfully with a 5.3 magnitude earthquake on the first day when our friend, Nathan, began sharing about First Foundation: The Finished Work of Christ.

There are no coincidences in God! Indeed, He is preparing to move in more powerful ways in His Body.

Our focus at this conference was intentionally for the younger generation to teach, lead worship, and share. We had five different young people share about the Five Core Values of our regional network of believers. These young people have an incredible clarity about values that our older generation may have downplayed; but they did not. From these sessions, and others as well, it was determined that over the next year, they will begin to increase their efforts to meet with other young people in the region, especially via Zoom. The goal is to free them to lead, with enthusiasm and love for one another.

On the last morning, as everyone prepared to return to their home countries, we watched them embrace and pray for each other and say goodbye. There was a deep sense of satisfaction that a new generation was rising to continue to pray, share, teach, and encourage one another to see the growth of the Isaiah 19 highway.

For almost 25 years we have been building the Isaiah 19 highway here in the Middle East and it is comforting to know that this will continue with the next generation. We are blessed to have seen times of inspiration, hardship, and stretching, amidst seasons of expansion and retreat.

Yet, in all of this, we know that the Lord influences the fate of key nations.

This conference was made possible in large part through our partnership with ICEJ and the funding that came from several key national chapters for the event. Dr. Mojmir Kalus, ICEJ Vice President for International Affairs, shared clear teaching on biblical Zionism. Especially for Arab believers, to better understand its biblical basis. And also how the Lord will fulfill His prophetic purposes in Israel and the Middle East.
